Abstract
BPS black hole solutions of U(1) gauged five-dimensional supergravity are o btained by solving the Killing spinor equations. These extremal static blac k holes live in an asymptotic AdS(5) space time. Unlike black holes in asym ptotic flat space time none of them possess a regular horizon. We also calc ulate the influence, of a particular class of these solutions, on the Wilso n loops calculation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
