Abstract
Two new 24-methylene tetracyclic triterpenes that possess the lanostane ske leton have been isolated from the stem barks of Polyalthia lamcilimba. Thei r structures were determined by spectral analysis and comparisons with othe r lanostane type triterpenes described in the literature. The two new compo nents (1 and 3) were elucidated as 24-methylenelanosta-7,9( Il)-dien-3 beta ,15 alpha-diol and 24-methylenelanosta-8-en-2 beta,3 beta,21-triol.
