Abstract
Fission-product I-129 in U and groundwater from the Lianshanguan Uranium De posit, Liaoning Province, China, has been measured using accelerator mass s pectrometry (AMS). The I-129 content in primary uranium ore is 7.6x10(6) at /g, but that predicted for equilibrium is 4.9X10(9) at/g; the I-129 content s in groundwater through uranium bodies are less than 3 to 8.1X10(5) at/L, but that in meteoric water is 0.5 to 1X10(5) at/L. Obviously, groundwater t hrough U ore bodies has leached out I-129 from the U ore.
