The amphiphilic porphyrin, 5, 10, 15, 20-tetra-(4-hexadecylpyridiniumyl) po
rphyrin bromide (TC16 PyP), has good film-forming property on the air/water
interface. The structure of TC16PyP Langmuir-Blodgett films was characteri
zed by UV-Vis absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra and low-angle X-ray
diffraction (LAXD). It is indicated that TC16PyP LB films have good stabili
ty and structure homogeneity. The photoelectric behavior of electrochemical
cell of TC16PyP LB films deposited on SnO2 optically transparent electrode
s (SnO2 OTE) were investigated by using the system of bicell and bielectrod
e. The experimental results show that the photocell can generate large and
stable photocurrent and photovoltage, the photoelectric device made from TC
16PyP LB films has a potential application value.
