Jh. Min et al., Optimal fabrication condition of bacteriorhodopsin films by electrophoretic sedimentation technique, SUPRAMOL SC, 5(5-6), 1998, pp. 687-690
The photocurrent of bacteriorhodopsin (bR) films fabricated by electrophore
tic sedimentation (EPS) technique was investigated. The fabrication conditi
ons by EPS, the intensity of electric field and exposure time, affected the
photoelectric response and topology of bR films. Based oil the photoelectr
ic response and surface topology measured by an atomic force microscope (AF
M), the optimal electric field for the fabrication of oriented bR film was
20 V/cm. The exposure time of 45 s did not affect the photocurrent of bR fi
lm but longer exposures damaged the bR films. The action spectrum of bR fil
ms Fabricated by EPS technique was well consistent to the absorption spectr
um of bR solution. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Limited. All rights reserved.
