Abstract
In order to have compounds available for structure-activity relationship st udies, the ecdysteroid 24-epi-pterosterone was synthesized from 20-hydroxye cdysone and pterosterone was obtained from Vitex glabrata stem bark. The fo rmer was approximately 7-fold less active than the latter in the Musca bioa ssay for moulting hormone activity. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All righ ts reserved.
