Abstract
The technique of thermally stimulated discharge currents (TSDC) has been us ed in order to study the sub-glass relaxation mechanisms in a series of sid e-chain liquid crystalline polymers. The results obtained suggest that thes e relaxations arise from local molecular motions in the mesogenic moiety. O n the other hand, it was observed that there is no evidence for compensatio n phenomena associated with these relaxations. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B. V. All rights reserved.
