Abstract
The introduction of transmyocardial laser revascularization for ischaemic h eart disease has brought with it new challenges for anaesthetists. These in clude acute deterioration of cardiac function, the need for emergency cardi opulmonary bypass and difficulty weaning from haemodynamic support. Recurre nt arrhythmias can occur despite amiodarone prophylaxis. We describe our in itial experience and the problems we encountered
