Abstract
The interaction between VO2+ and thiamine diphosphate(TDP) has been reinves tigated by differential IR spectroscopy in aqueous solutions at pH values o f 3.5 and 6.5. In acidic media interaction involves only the phosphate grou p of the ligand whereas in neutral solution, N atoms of the base may also b e involved.A solid 1:1 VO2+/TDP complex could be isolated and thoroughly ch aracterized. In this complex the terminal PO,group of TDP acts as a bidenta te ligand.
