Shallow donors in ZnO are used to investigate the quadrupole interacti
on in single crystals. From the resolved quadrupole splitting, we dete
rmine the electric field gradients at the Zn-67 and the O-17 site. A m
agnetic double-resonance technique both increases the sensitivity and
the accuracy of the field gradient determination. The data for ZnO are
