The advisability of upgrading the educational requirement for psychologist
registration from four to six years has recently been the subject of consid
erable debate. Previous research has revealed that employers, senior psycho
logists, and students support such a reform. This study examines the views
of the members of Australian psychologist registration boards on the issues

. Possible problems arising from the introduction of a six-year educational
requirement are discussed and solutions proposed.
