Abstract
A field experiment was conducted to study the response of niger (Guizotia a byssinica (LF) Cass) variety nig-1 to foliar application of 1000 and 1500 p pm KNap, 2 and 4 ppm mixtalol. Results revealed that leaf area/plant, dry w eight/plant and chlorophyll content of leaf at different ages of plant were significantly increased by different treatments but the highest increases were recorded from 1000 ppm KNap and 2 ppm mixtalol. Plant height. number o f branches/plant, number of head/plant, number of seeds/head and seed yield /ha were also significantly increased following 1000 ppm KNap and 2 ppm mix talol treatments. Seed yield of niger increased by 29.2 and 20.2% following 1000 ppm KNap and 2 ppm mixtalol treatments, respectively.
