Abstract
We compared mutagenic activity of Cu(II) chromate complexes with 2,2'-bipyr idyl, 1,10-phenanthroline, and 2-(2'pyridyl)imidazole in the standard bacte rial tests. It was noticed that Cu(II) chromate complexes with 2-(2'pyridyl )imidazole exhibited the lowest mutagenic activity among ten tested complex es. We regard these results as promising for further syntheses of Cr(VI) - organic ligand complexes in the aspects of chromium mutagenicity quenching.
