CALCULATION OF RADIAL DOSE DISTRIBUTIONS FOR HEAVY-IONS BY A NEW ANALYTICAL APPROACH

With the new analytical method recently developed for calculation of r adially restricted LET, radial dose distributions are calculated for p rotons and heavy ions of different energies. In the entire range of ra dial distance, the results agree well with the results of comprehensiv e Monte Carlo simulations and with experimental data. A comparison wit h other models of radial dose distribution demonstrates the advantages of the new analytical approach.
