Abstract
A self-tuning single neuron controller was developed and applied to track o perating trajectories in an exothermic chemical batch reactor. By self-tuni ng only the slope of the non-linear saturated function b, the adopted singl e neuron controller can track a given operating trajectory closely by merel y observing the process output error. Experimental results reveal the appli cability of such a self-tuning single neuron controller for tracking a give n trajectory in batch reactors. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights r eserved.
