Abstract
The peroxovanadium(V) complex containing N-carboxymethylhistidine (cmhist) was synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray analysis as a model compound for the vanadium-dependent haloperoxidase enzymes. The complex ta kes a heptacoordinate structure consisting of a quadridentate cmhist ligand , a side-on bound peroxo group, and an oxo group. The coordination polyhedr on is a distorted pentagonal bipyramid.
