Abstract
The layer-by-layer self-assembly of polyelectrolytes, colloidal nanoparticl es and nanoplatelets provides a convenient route to the construction of ult rathin films with many potential applications. The utility of this approach is illustrated by describing the construction of a high energy density rec hargeable lithium-ion battery.
