Abstract
The kinetics of the esterification of levulinic acid with 2-ethylhexanol ha s been investigated in an isothermal semibatch reactor. The reaction appear s to be second order with respect to alcohol and levulinic acid in the pres ence of sulphuric acid as a catalyst. The kinetic parameters have been dete rmined.
