C. Bigey et al., Study by XPS and XAS (XANES) of tungsten oxides based catalysts: WO2, WO3,1% Pd/WO2 and 1% Pd/WO3, J PHYS IV, 8(P5), 1998, pp. 553-560
In this work, the catalytic activity is correlated to the structures of the
tungsten oxides surfaces and bulks deduced from XPS, XAS (XANES) and XRD d
ata. The reactivity of 2-methyl-pentane was tested on WO3 and WO2 powders a
ctivated under H-2 at various temperatures. When palladium is added to thes
e systems the step of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation is highly favoured whic
h results in a much better activity of the catalysts in isomerization provi
ding no formation of metallic tungsten is occured.
