J. Hancsok et al., DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN ENGINE OILS BY THE APPLICATION OF SUCCINIMIDE TYPE ADDITIVES, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 25(1), 1997, pp. 47-52
The presentation is concerned with an overview of the history and deve
lopment of the application of Hungarian succinimide type detergent-dis
persant additives. The relationship between the formulation of engine
oils in the last twenty years and the efficiency of the ashless succin
imide type additives is discussed. Results of the laboratory and motor
tests of engine oils are compared. Based on the results of the struct
ure optimisation of the polyisobutenyl-succinimide type additives sign
ificant results have been achieved in the improvements of the effectiv
eness of the performance packages (SE, SF, SG, CC, CD, HPDO) of differ
ent levels. It has been found that by using various types of succinimi
de additives a cost effective production of environmentally sounder an
d from the point of view of human biology more advantageous engine oil
s of different performance levels with low ash and phosphorus content
and only some ppms of halogen can be achieved.
