Abstract
In this work the effect of the interplay between magnetic and structural de grees of freedom in the structural transitions undergone by Ni2MnGa alloy i s investigated. Elastic constant and magnetic susceptibility measurements i n a magnetic field are presented. A simple phenomenological model is propos ed to account for the experimental observations.
