Abstract
Oxygen isotope effect in manganites (cuprates) is caused by the dynamic Jah n-Teller effect on the bridging oxygen ion (e.g., the ion between Mn3+ and Mn4+ in manganites). This effect leads also to the vibronic reduction and e ffective decrease of the ferromagnetic transition temperature. (C) 1998 Ame rican Institute of Physics. [S0021-8979(98)32211-2].
