Abstract
Several nonlinear optical polymers containing azometine side-chain groups h ave been obtained by interfacial polycondensation. The structures of obtain ed monomers and polymers were confirmed by infrared, H-1-NMR, and ultraviol et spectroscopies. Mechanical, thermal, and optical properties of the obtai ned polymers were evaluated. The investigations show that some of the new p olymers obtained in this study may find use in optical applications. (C) 19 99 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
