Abstract
By including the effects of superstring thresholds, we consider minima l string unification together with the requirement of producing a supe rsymmetry breaking gluino condensate in the hidden sector. Assigning m odular weights to the MSSM fields, consistent with anomaly cancellatio n, we generate solutions in a class of phenomenologically-viable Z(8)' orbifold models. In such models, a hidden photino can be a source of cosmological dark matter.
