Abstract
A cost function method for the optimal output feedback problem is applied t o a class of optimal decentralized adaptive control problems. A well known optimal cost function is used, which is combined with the recursive least s quares method to form an adaptive controller. The adaptive control law for the large scale system is obtained from the adaptive control laws of the su bsystems. The behaviour of the algorithm is illustrated by a simulated exam ple.
