Two four-element linear aperture-coupled cylindrical dielectric resonator a
ntenna arrays have been theoretically modeled and experimentally implemente
d. The arrays produced broadside radiation shaping the E- and H-plane, resp
ectively. The resonant frequency, return loss, radiation pattern, gain, unl
oaded Q-factor, and impedance bandwidth of the arrays have been measured. O
verall, good agreement was obtained between theory and experiment. (C) 1999
