Abstract
Chaptalia hintonii Bullock, endemic to Mexico, has floral characters that i ndicate affinities to the genus Gerbera. A new nomenclatural combination, G erbera hintonii (Bullock) Katinas, is proposed, and a redescription and ill ustration of the species is presented. The differences between Chaptalia an d Gerbera, and the relationships between G. hintonii and the allied section s of Gerbera, are discussed.
