Abstract
We analyze stability of continuous wave (cw) solutions to the second-harmon ic-generation equations in a multidimensional dispersive medium, and demons trate that they are always unstable. We also consider the modulational stab ility in a more general three-wave system, and demonstrate that, at least i n some cases, its multidimensional cw solutions may be stable.
