Abstract
Based on an earlier proposed variational perturbative method, we use a comb ination of Landau wavefunctions and the one-dimensional hydrogen wavefuncti ons to calculate the low-lying energy levels of magnetopolarons in very str ongly confined parabolic quantum wires (QWs). Interesting non-monotonic beh avior of the energy levels was noticed. A possible explanation for this beh avior is also proposed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
