Abstract
We discuss continuous social choice functions defined on the set of th e equivalence classes induced by profiles of individual preferences co rresponding to anonymity. It is shown that we can at best obtain the e quivalent result of Chichilnisky's impossibility theorem when the set of an equivalence classes is endowed with various reasonable topologie s.
