Abstract
Based on the idea of continuous cell mapping, an improved Poincare-like cel l mapping method is developed. This method can be used for global analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems without missing the periodic solutions and the domains of attraction, A bearing-rotor system is analyzed by using this me thod, and the influences of initial conditions on transient movement are di scussed in detail, (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd, All rights reserved.
