Iatrogenic ureteral injuries in operative laparoscopy: diagnostic and prevention by retrograde catheter placement

Principles For avoiding ureteral injury are the same in laparoscopic as in open operations. Many techniques to prevent or detect urinary tract injury has been previously reported. The purpose of this study is to describe indi cations and procedures of ureteral retrograde catheter placement in operati ve laparoscopy and to assess the security that allows this technique to avo id or detect ureteral injury.
