Jf. Delaloye et al., An endobag for extracting large lymph nodes in patients undergoing lymphadenectomy through axilloscopy for breast cancer, 7TH CONGRESS OF THE EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR GYNAECOLOGICAL ENDOSCOPY, 1998, pp. 123-125
Our objective was to describe the eligibility criteria and a simple procedu
re for extracting axillary lymph nodes in order to avoid contamination of s
cars in patients undergoing lymphadenectomy through axilloscopy. Twenty-sev
en patients with T1-T2 (<3cm)NOMO breast cancer suitable for lumpectomy wer
e eligible. Lymph nodes chains were extracted in an endobag. All but 3/27 p
atients were pN0, whereas all patients were MO. Mean follow-up was 7 months
. No local recurrence was observed. We conclude that selection of T1-T2(<3
cm)NOMO breast cancer and removal of lymph nodes in an endobag may prevent
local recurrence in patients undergoing lymphadenectomy through axilloscopy
.
