Abstract
Niacin treatment (alone) was compared with etofibrate and niacin combinatio n to treat patients with high-density lipoprotein less-than 35 mg/dl and wi thout hypertriglyceridemia, The niacin and etofibrate combination proved to be safe and increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels to 48%, which was 3 times higher than that obtained with niacin alone.
