Abstract
A 14-year-old girl experienced sudden onset of weakness progressing rapidly to paralysis. She died 7 days later from a massive pulmonary thromboembolu s. Autopsy revealed extensive infarction of the spinal cord with a fibrocar tilaginous embolus of the corresponding segment of the anterior spinal arte ry.
