Y. Bichsel et U. Von Gunten, Determination of iodide and iodate by ion chromatography with postcolumn reaction and UV/visible detection, ANALYT CHEM, 71(1), 1999, pp. 34-38
Iodide and iodate can be determined by two new methods using anion-exchange
chromatography with postcolumn reaction and UV/visible detection. Iodide i
s determined as IBr2- at 249 mn. Iodate is determined as I-3(-) at 288 nm.
The analyses can be run completely automatically and do not require any sam
ple pretreatment, The detection limits for iodide and iodate are 0.1 mu g/L
. The methods have been successfully applied to determine iodide and iodate
in several mineral waters and in drinking water as well as for the determi
nation of iodide in table salt.
