Abstract
The use of ion energy loss spectrometry to determine the density distributi ons of ion tracks in solids is understood as a special case of one-dimensio nal nanotomography of many identical objects. As an example of this approac h, the determination of the radial density distribution along 2-MeV proton and nitrogen ion tracks in cellulose nitrate foils is described.
