Abstract
Molecular and crystal structure of the major epimer obtained in the 1, 3-bipolar cycloadditon of acetonitrile oxide to (22R)-22-hydroxy-23-en e steroids was determined by X-ray analysis. The monoclinic crystals o btained belong to a P2(1) space group with a = 12.476(4), b = 6.408(1) , and c = 14.922(4) Angstrom; beta = 96.77(2)degrees. (20R,22S,23S)-Co nfiguration of the side chain and the presence of several intra- and i ntermolecular hydrogen bonds were shown.
