Abstract
Turbulence measurements have been carried out in the surf zone of a wave fl ume. The purpose of the measurements is to determine the length scale of th e turbulence generated by the wave breaking. The length scale of the turbul ence is estimated on basis of the correlation between simultaneous measurem ents of the vertical turbulent fluctuations, taken at different levels abov e the bed, (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
