Abstract
Three recent (post-glacial) gravity-driven sedimentary bodies have been ide ntified on the western levee of the Rhone deep-sea fan (North-Balearic Basi n), based on the analysis of 5 000 km of seismic reflexion profiles: an upp er rugged unit corresponding to the neofan, an intermediate transparent uni t and a lower rugged unit. Deposit origin and setting mechanisms were quant itatively approached by drawing digital elevation models (DEM) from isopach maps. ((C) Academie des sciences / Elsevier, Paris.).
