Abstract
Water availability and scarcity in the Arab region have been reviewed and t he most outstanding technological constraints have been identified. The Int ernational Hydrological Program (IHP) of UNESCO has been overviewed and rec ommended as a regional framework for assisting in establishing a sustainabl e management approach to the scarce water resources of the Arab region.
