Abstract
A new simple method is presented for determining the average moisture conte nt in walls based on a time-domain reflectometer. Using such a microwave lo cating reflectometer, it is possible to perform non-invasive measurements i n masonry with access from only one side. The spatial resolution of the ref lectometer is improved by the use of a pole extraction algorithm. To obtain accurate results for the moisture content in every layer of the wall, it i s only necessary that the geometry of the wall is known, which is normally the case.
