Plates with holes under lateral load pressure

In this work, plates with holes are analysed by finite element methods when they carry a lateral load pressure. First, annular plates are studied, whi ch permits one to test the theory available for these cases, as well as the use of the finite element method itself. Afterwards the study is extended to plates with holes of noncircular shape and to plates with offset holes, to deduce the moment and deflection produced by the load pressure.
