Abstract
The rates of humus renewal and rejuvenation of the radiocarbon age of surfa ce soils and buried paleosols are determined on the basis of radiocarbon da ta on different soil horizons with respect to a polygenetic model of soil d evelopment. The age of relic and buried humus horizons is determined. These data are used for interpretation of the history of pedogenesis and environ mental changes in the East European forest-steppe during the Holocene.
