Temperature-dependent density profiles of trapped boson-fermion mixtures

We present a semiclassical three-fluid model for a Bose-condensed mixture o f interacting Bose and Fermi gases confined in harmonic traps at finite tem perature. The model is used to characterize the experimentally relevant beh aviour of the equilibrium density profile of the fermions with varying comp osition and temperature across the onset of degeneracy, for coupling streng ths relevant to a mixture of K-39 and K-40 atoms.
