Abstract
Eleven mummies of E. serotinus and one each of CI murinus and N. leisleri w ere found in a Ventilation shaft of a one-storied house at Hulin, distr. Kr omeriz, Czech Republic. The bats entered the shaft in the loft, fell down t o the first floor but could not escape since the shaft was closed by a kind of Venetian blind. While the syntopic occurrence of E, serotinus and V. mu rinus (in thanatocenoses and of Living animals) is not exceptional, this is the first record of N, leisleri found in the same shelter as the other two species. N. leisleri, however, has previously been netted in a 3 km distan t woodland. V. murinus, on the contrary, is reported for the first time wit hin an area of 9 mapping quadrats (1210 km(2)) centred on Hulin.
