Reactor's perspective of tandem mirrors

Possible schemes of the ambipolar fusion reactor are presented. For the axi symmetric D-T reactor the energy balance is estimated and conditions of MHD stability are assumed. The main plasma physics, physical and technical pro blems are discussed, which must be solved to create the ambipolar D-T fusio n reactor.
