The possibility of using oligonucleotides from MER1 family repeats as
PCR primers for the amplification of human genome DNA fragments was st
udied. The recommended oligonucleotide primers were chosen by computer
analysis of the data base of the EMBL (release 37.0) nucleotide seque
nces. Use of one of the oligonucleotides was shown to allow specific h
uman DNA amplification to be carried out.
