Abstract
Carbonized coirpith was effective in the removal of toxic metal ions such a s Hg(II), Pb(II), Cr(VI) and orthophosphate and dyes such as rhodamine-B, a cid violet, procion orange and congo red and paraquat in aqueous phase syst ems. Quantitative removal of dye and toxic metal ions and around 75% remova l of phosphate and paraquat were observed.
