A. Lopez-delgado et al., Synthesis of mixed ferrite with spinel-type structure from a stainless steelmaking solid waste, J ALLOY COM, 281(2), 1998, pp. 312-317
Acid recovery plant powder, a solid by-product of the stainless steel indus
try with high iron, chromium and nickel content, was used to synthesise a n
anocrystalline zinc-chromium-nickel ferrite in order to recover the total m
etal content of this waste as a valuable ferric product. Zn2+ was provided
by dissolving ZnO in HNO3 and precipitation with 1M n-butylamine solution.
The cubic spinel-type ferrite obtained, at temperature as low as 350 degree
s C, was characterised by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning and transmissi
on electron microscopy. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
